The Town of Stockbridge maintains a list of checks that have been issued but remain uncashed. These may include refunds, reimbursements, or other Town disbursements. If your name appears on the current list, you may submit a claim for reissuance of the check.
Unclaimed Checks
Unclaimed checks are checks issued by the Town that have not been cashed and are less than three years old.
Abandoned Checks
Pursuant to Massachusetts General Law Chapter 200A, Section 5, checks that remain unclaimed for three years or more are considered abandoned and may be handled in accordance with Massachusetts unclaimed property requirements.

If the current Checks List is not posted on this page, please contact the Treasurer/Collector’s Office to request a copy.
How to Claim Funds
To request reissuance of a check:
1. Review the current unclaimed and abandoned checks list.
2. Complete the Abandoned and Unclaimed Checks Claim Form.
3. Return the completed form to the Treasurer/Collector’s Office.
Please note that original signatures are required. Electronic copies, photocopies, and faxed copies will not be accepted.
